The decision I was most proud of in the previous council term was the decision to finalize the protection of over 180 acres of forest and greenspace in the NW Quadrant of Newmarket.
The next step will be to roll-out an extensive trail system in the protected woodlot. It is important that residents have both passive and active recreation options.
The extensive trail network will be a jewel in Newmarket and we are lucky to have it in the heart of Ward 7.
Eventually this trail system will connect with a number of other trails in Newmarket. I am excited about this trail network and I will keep you updated as the different phases are implemented.
The timing of the various phases is of course dependent on the budget approvals. Council is very keen to move on the first phase so that the residents of Newmarket can enjoy these lands.
